Just Us Men Monday 7th September, 7pm-9pm, The Little Green Dragon This is a new group for men with cancer to talk, share and support each other. There is no pressure to speak or share your story, it is just a chance to gain a community of men who are experiencing the same difficulties, challenges and changes as you. They say women typically share face-to-face and men share shoulder-to-shoulder. Let us shoulder some of the burden of your cancer diagnosis. Let’s sit shoulder-to-shoulder and help you through what is arguably one of the toughest times in your life. At this group, sometimes you’ll talk about cancer other times you’ll want to talk about the football score. One week you’ll want to chat about a cancer check up, the next week you won’t want to share at all. That’s fine. There’s no agenda or schedule with this group, it is what you make of it. Why should I come to this group? The Nightingale’s mission is to improve the lives of people with cancer by helping them cope with and come to terms with their diagnosis. This group’s aim is to make your life that little bit better and that little be easier. This group is for you if: 💙 You struggle to talk to friends and family about your diagnosis 💙 You want to feel like you’re more than just your cancer 💙 You want a space where you can talk openly or simply listen without pressure 💙 You are finding it difficult to cope with the emotional impact of cancer 💙 You sometimes feel isolated because of your diagnosis 💙 You don’t actually know what support you need There is no formal registration process to join the group. Simply come along to a session and see if it’s right for you. Whether you attend once or become a regular member, you will be warmly welcomed.
