Stagecoach Southgate

My name is Kate Diaz and I have been Principal of Stagecoach Southgate since January 2006. Over the past two decades, I have had the privilege of watching hundreds of local children across the Enfield area grow into confident, capable young performers. I trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama before beginning my career as a television presenter with the BBC. I am passionate about nurturing performance skills in young people and firmly believe that the structure, teamwork and discipline involved in creating productions build invaluable life skills that extend far beyond the stage. Whether your child already loves singing, drama or dance, or is a complete beginner keen to explore the performing arts, our aim is the same: to provide a warm, enthusiastic and safe environment where every child feels encouraged to have a go. Our weekly classes develop confidence, physical awareness, communication and articulation — all while being creative, educational and fun. We celebrate every achievement and every personal milestone along the way. Classes are available on Fridays and Saturdays and we have 3 different venues- Ashmole Academy, De Bohun and Osidge Primary

5Star review As a Stagecoach Southgate student for 7 years, I can confidently say that it has been one of the best experiences of my life.I can honestly remember living from weekend to weekend, as I waited for those three hours on a Saturday morning.Stagecoach Southgate is place that does many things. First and foremost, it creates and trains young performers. The training that I received at Stagecoach, both in classes and in LAMDA lessons have given me a lot of the tools I need to go into the performing arts. Its dedication to teaching all three of the performing disciplines (acting, singing, dancing) is perfect for any child looking to go into this kind of career. This is helped in no small way by the brilliant and talented teachers that work so hard to get the best out of every student! All of the teachers at Southgate have professional experience, and will often keep students informed of their latest performances etc. Furthermore, all of the teachers come from a high standard of education in the arts, and this is fed directly to the students.Students of Stagecoach Southgate also have a wide variety of performance opportunities open to them. This includes performing in the West End (Her Majesty's Theatre Stagecoach Showcase and the Winter Gala at the Shaftesbury Theatre), performing in the Stagecoach Summer Showcase (Easy Stages) or joining the Stagecoach Agency, which opens a world of experience and chances to work in the industry! However, although it may seem that Southgate is just a training ground for young performers, this is not the case. Any child who goes into Stagecoach will benefit from a myriad of skills taught to them. Such skills include presentation skills, teamwork and friendships that will last a long time.In short, Stagecoach Southgate is a safe environment, where children and young people can learn both how to perform when the curtain goes up, and after it goes down, and I couldn't be more proud to have been a part of that.

Kate, Paula and the whole team are the best! 5Star review I have two daughters (aged 9 and 17) at Stagecoach Southgate and they both enjoy it tremendously. They really look forward to their Saturday mornings with the Stagecoach team. The team are professional and incredibly helpful in all aspects. My youngest daughter has also had a Stagecoach Birthday party which was very well organised and all the children had a fabulous time, I would thoroughly recommend it. My youngest also does the LAMDA examinations through Stagecoach and is always well prepared by the LAMDA Teacher. My eldest daughter is nearly 18 and will be very sorry to leave!
