Council begins work on plans that could see weekly rubbish and recycling collections return across the borough.
For many residents, bin collections have been one of the most talked-about local issues in recent years. Overflowing bins, litter and fly-tipping have all featured regularly in conversations across our community. Now, Enfield Council has taken the first formal step towards bringing back weekly bin collections, with plans beginning to take shape following a decision made by Cabinet.
At a recent Cabinet meeting, councillors agreed to begin the process of exploring how weekly collections could be reintroduced across Enfield.
The proposal follows a commitment made during this year’s local elections and forms part of the council’s wider ambition to create a cleaner borough.

It’s important to note that no changes have been made to collection schedules at this stage. The current fortnightly rubbish and recycling collections remain in place while the review is carried out.
