A charity created in Christopher’s memory
In March 2022, George and Areti Nicolaou lost their beloved 15-year-old son, Christoforos, also known as Christopher. Following his death, they established the Christoforos Charity Foundation to raise awareness of the dangers young people can encounter online and help other families.
Their work highlights online exploitation, coercion, cyberbullying and dangerous online challenges. Through education, awareness and opportunities to connect away from screens, the foundation aims to give children and young people greater support and help parents understand the risks.
Behind that work are two parents determined to turn their heartbreak into something that could protect another family.
Coming together for an important cause
The charity dinner and dance brought a room full of people together in support of George, Areti and the foundation’s mission.
There was wonderful Greek dancing, including performances by talented young people, with culture and tradition at the heart of the celebrations. Seeing young people taking part, enjoying themselves and connecting with others felt especially meaningful given the charity’s work.
For us, the most moving part was seeing how many people had come to stand alongside the family. An evening like this takes considerable work, and everyone involved deserves recognition for helping make it happen.
More to come from Two Fresh Productions
An upcoming feature film is also being made by Two Fresh Productions. We look forward to sharing more about the project when further details are available.
Why Love Your Doorstep is supporting
Much of our work at Love Your Doorstep involves connecting people with support, sharing information and helping our community look out for one another. We were pleased to attend and support a charity working to do exactly that for young people and their families.
Thank you to George, Areti, the organisers, performers and everyone who contributed to the evening. We are proud to support the work being carried out in Christopher’s memory.
Please take a moment to learn more about the foundation, its story and how you can help.
