Love Your Doorstep joins community leaders, volunteers and organisations at the Mayor’s Civic Centre reception.
Last Friday evening, the Love Your Doorstep team were honoured to attend a special reception hosted by the new Mayor of Enfield, Councillor Emma Supple, at the Mayor’s Parlour in the Civic Centre.
The informal gathering brought together councillors, community organisations, local businesses and long-standing supporters from across the borough to celebrate the beginning of the Mayor’s year in office. It was a wonderful opportunity to catch up with many familiar faces and reflect on the incredible people who dedicate their time to making Enfield a better place.
The role of Mayor is one of the borough’s oldest civic traditions. While politically impartial, the Mayor acts as Enfield’s first citizen, representing the borough at hundreds of community events each year, supporting local charities and recognising the achievements of residents, volunteers, organisations and businesses that make a difference across our communities. Councillor Emma Supple was formally elected as Mayor at Enfield Council’s Annual Meeting in May, becoming the borough’s civic ambassador for the 2026/27 municipal year. In accepting the role, she spoke about the privilege of celebrating Enfield’s diverse communities, businesses and organisations, and highlighting the people whose work often takes place quietly behind the scenes. Those values were certainly reflected throughout the evening. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and optimistic, with conversations centred around collaboration, community spirit and the opportunities to work together over the coming year.
At Love Your Doorstep, we have always believed that strong communities are built through partnerships. Whether that’s residents, volunteers, charities, local businesses or public organisations, everyone has a part to play in creating a borough where people feel connected, supported and proud of where they live.
We would like to thank Mayor Emma Supple for the invitation and for bringing together so many people who care deeply about Enfield. It was a pleasure to be part of such a positive evening.
We wish Mayor Emma Supple every success during her year in office. Her warmth, positivity and inclusive approach are already making an impression, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact she has across our borough in the months ahead.
