Hello,
My name is Oli. I’m a veterinary surgeon and one of the founders of Hello Vet. We recently opened our vet clinic on London Road and I am excited to introduce myself.
I grew up on the floor of my father’s veterinary clinic, and immediately fell in love with helping animals and the people who care for them. It’s the best job in the world, although over the last 15 years, I feel vet clinics have lost the close personal connections that used to underpin the relationship between vets, clients and their pets.
We created Hello Vet to address this issue and have built a clinic where I’d be happy for my own children to work and my pets to receive care.
In a world where over 60% of vet clinics are now owned by large corporate groups, we want to offer an alternative. We’re proud to do things differently, for example:
1) Ask us anything any time: you can message our clinic team via Whatsapp, free of charge. We provide immediate support as well as general advice even for the little things. Nothing is too small or silly to ask. We know that the more we talk, the healthier your pet will be.
2) Stay with your pet: we’re the UK’s first clinic designed to let you stay with your pets during procedures, including anaesthetic and recovery. You wouldn’t hand over your child at the door of a hospital, so why is it normal to do so with your pet? We believe you know your pet best and should be able to support and reassure them in their time of need.
3) No pricing uncertainty: there’s enough to worry about when your pet needs treatment without additional uncertainty around cost. All of our prices for common services are displayed online and we’ll always send you a cost estimate before an appointment or procedure. We will actively explore different treatment options for any budget & our Buddy Plan helps you save on essentials.
4) Same-day appointments, 7 days a week: We’re open on weekdays until 7pm, and on Saturday and Sunday until 4pm, so you can save on expensive out of hours visits. You can book same or next day appointments in minutes via WhatsApp or over the phone.
5) Purpose-built with anxious pets in mind: Separate cat and dog waiting area, sunken scales, a quiet room for nervous pets, treats and dimmable lights make vet visits more comfortable.
